Duty of Candour
All health and social care services in Scotland have a legal responsibility known as the Duty of Candour. This means that if something goes wrong in the care we provide, we are committed to being open, honest, and transparent.
Where an incident occurs, we ensure that the people affected:
- Are informed about what happened
- Receive a sincere apology
- Are kept updated throughout
- Can be confident that we learn from the situation to improve our service
As part of this commitment, we publish an Annual Duty of Candour Report, which outlines how our Homecare Service has fulfilled this responsibility over the past year.
We believe that openness and accountability are essential to delivering safe, high-quality care, and we hope you find this report helpful and reassuring.
